Assembling mooring components for a dual-leg ELASTIC MOORING used to anchor a profiling water quality buoy in a man-made lake near Angel's Camp, California.

The BuoyTec ELASTIC MOORING provided sufficient elastic capacity (over 200 % elongation) to accommodate the annual water level excursion of nearly 600 feet, while maintaining the horizontal position of the monitoring buoy very near the outlet dam. The temperature data from the buoy provides vital information to U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for its lake level management for flood control, hydro-electric power generation, and recreational purposes.
